The Mudroom
The Mudroom is a 3,600 square foot, off-campus, teen center within walking distance of the local high school. The facility is complete with a pool table, ping pong table, two foosball tables, two flat screen TV’s, a gaming center, four serving counters, comfortable seating, free Wi-Fi, and a house computer. The students are able to enjoy complimentary coffee, tea, hot chocolate, popcorn, cookies, brownies, and other snacks made and provided by individuals from Marietta Alliance. The only items the teens are required to pay for are sodas (which cost 25 cents).
The Mudroom was completely renovated, is fully supported, and entirely staffed by volunteers from Marietta Alliance. Several outreach activities are planned throughout the year to draw in new students and reach them with the Gospel of Christ. Upon the conclusion of these events the students are invited to stay for a special youth meeting and service.
The Mudroom is open Monday through Friday, 3 PM – 6 PM year round. In order, however, for the teen center to run efficiently and effectively it requires 35 workers, 25 cookie and snack bakers, 1 maintenance man, and 1 custodian. But, most importantly, it requires a prayer team of 30 people who pray for each worker by name, each teen by heart, and each day by hour.

Personal Training With a Personal Touch It’s hard to believe that you are entering an exercise facility when you walk into Body Design Personal Training of Marietta. With a open, studio loft design much like one you would see for an downtown office space, Body Design creates the atmosphere for what it delivers: private, VIP personal training. Paul Feldman, owner and president, decided a few years ago to “work smarter rather than harder” in his approach to personal training. From six gyms, 15 trainers and 200 clients at any given time, he now has one facility and two trainers. The result is a personalized fitness program for each client who walks through his door.
With more than 22 years of experience, Feldman feels that one of the most notable benefits he offers is making his clients feel at ease. “I believe in each individual and the goal that he or she has set, whether it’s getting in shape or losing weight,” Feldman says. “My job is to help my clients not only look better, but also feel healthier and younger through exercise and improved nutrition.”
Although Feldman trains all age groups, his target age for clients is 35 and up. And at 45, he is a proven example of what exercise and good nutrition can do. “Most people don’t realize that we all start losing muscle mass at 35,” he explains. “As the years progress, the muscle loss turns to fat. The way to combat this trend and improve metabolism is through exercise.”
Feldman’s clientele includes people from all walks of life, not just weignt loss and toning. He helps those with health issues -- including diabetes and pacemakers to others with disabilities and in wheelchairs -- achieve their fitness goals. Nagging aches and pains are his specialty.
At the Marietta facility, Feldman provides training programs through his school, Body Design Institute, for anyone interested in becoming a personal trainer. A former Kennesaw State University instructor, he now offers this 12-week certification course.
